Installation of Openpath Access Control Systems

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

Access control technology, which makes buildings and homes of all kinds safer, has been evolving in recent years. We have been eager to eliminate fobs, keys and community PINs from our buildings as the technology has been evolving and improving. Recently we completed the installation of an Openpath access control system at Theater Row Apartments. Openpath is a contactless, keyless, phone-activated system that enables building access for our residents and their guests only, along with essential service providers who are registered. Decoding and recoding residents when they move in or out as well as being able to remotely monitor access provides residents with an additional layer of security.

Openpath’s app and registration process for residents help to make implementation trouble-free. The main challenge when changing access controls at a building is obvious: our residents need to be able to come and go and live their lives without hassle or interruption when getting to their home. The transition needs to be seamless. Special thanks to our friends at SECOR who led the installation for us.

We are now exploring the possibility of completing installations at other University Property buildings.
